Medicines Costs

A community forum was held to seek consumer input into findings of a research project conducted at the School about the impact of an increase in the consumer co-payments for prescription medicines. It was important to have input from a diverse group of health consumers who took multiple medicines that were subsidised by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. The researcher worked with the Health Consumers’ Council of WA to access consumers and took part in a radio interview to explain about the purpose of the forum. The forum was attended by over 60 people aged between 18 and 92.
