About the project

Improving Outcomes for Adults with Chronic Health Conditions Research Group is looking for community members to join their group. This research group is part of the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Research at Edith Cowan University. They would value input from the community about their current and future research.

This program of research is focused on innovative care delivery and person centred outcomes in:

  • Self-management
  • Families
  • Palliative care
  • eHealth
  • Mental health
  • Clinical discovery

Current projects include research on Diabetes, life after Intensive Care, Dementia, and the needs of carers.

About the position

The Committee is looking for two informed and experienced consumer representatives. 

What am I expected to do?

As a member on the committee, community members will:

  • Bring the consumer voice to high level discussions about existing and upcoming research projects
  • Advise on future opportunities 
  • Advise on future opportunities 

What skills or experience do I need?

We are looking for informed, highly experienced consumer representatives with an understanding of health and preferably nursing and midwifery.  

What is the time commitment?

One year. Meetings are monthly.

Where will meetings be held?

At Edith Cowan University, Joondalup 

What support is offered?

$30 honorarium per hour for meetings attended, plus parking. Free training and mentoring is offered by the Consumer and Community Health Research Network.
