About the project

The Committee provides leadership, strategic advice and quality assurance in research and research training. The committee makes recommendations to the School Executive on all matters relating to research and research training that aligns with Edith Cowan University and the School strategic priorities. 

About the position

The Committee is looking for two informed and experienced consumer representatives. 

What am I expected to do?

As a member on the committee, community members will be involved in:

  • Making recommendations to School Executive on all matters relating to research and research training within the school including:
  • Monitoring the directions and outcomes of research and research training in the School.
  • Communicating relevant information as recognised and directed by the University Research and Higher Degrees Committee. 

What skills or experience do I need?

We are looking for informed, highly experienced consumer representatives with an understanding of health and preferably nursing and midwifery.  

What is the time commitment?

One year, with meetings being approximately every six weeks.

Where will meetings be held?

At Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Campus

What support is offered?

$30 honorarium per hour for meetings attended, plus parking. Free training and mentoring is offered by the Consumer and Community Health Research Network.
