Research Buddy: Pre-travel health advice project

This project is being undertaken by the Western Australian Department of Health and aims to find out:

  • how often Western Australian travellers returning from Bali contract communicable disease symptoms
  • if an online pre-travel health advice service could reduce the number of travellers getting these diseases

 

What is expected of consumers and community members?

Research buddies are asked to provide input into:

  • how to recruit people to the study
  • project design
  • survey questions
  • development of the online pre-travel health advice service

What experience do consumers and community members need to have?

Previous experience of travelling to Bali, Indonesia and being aged 18 years or over are essential.

How long are you expected to be involved?

Until early 2017

What support is offered?

Out of pocket expenses are offered and training is available through the Consumer and Community Involvemnet Program

Where will meetings be held?

The Department of Health Communicable Disease Control Directorate in Shenton Park or at your convenience
