Creating healthy eating environments for toddlers by adopting habits project

The Creating Healthy Eating Environments for Toddlers by Adopting Habits project (also known as the CHEETAH project) are looking for 3 consumer or community members to join their advisory committee.

We want to improve toddlers eating habits through designing a parent-focused innovative online tool.

Successful consumers and community members will be providing advice on grant applications and lay summaries of the research. 

What is the project about?

Bad habits are very hard to break; however the ways bad habits form ( e.g. Always eating lollies when watching tv) can be used to form good habits (e.g. eating veg with meals). We want to improve toddlers eating habits through designing a parent-focused innovative online tool. Three behaviours that we have identified as troublesome to parents of toddlers will be targeted:

  • eating a healthy breakfast
  • always having veg with dinner and
  • drinking water with meals.

What is expected of consumers? 

We are looking for parents of 2-3 year old children to be part of an advisary committee meeting. You can be part of the group either by skype or attend face to face meetings.

We would like you to provide advice on:

  • grant applications,
  • lay summaries
  • content for the online tool

How long are consumers expected to be involved?

3 years in the 1st instance

Where will meetings be held?

Monthly for first 6 months then as necessary

What expenses are offered?

$30 per hour

When do you need to start?

As soon as possible
