The Raine Study is looking for for two Raine Study representatives, one participant and one parent of a participant, to provide a community perspective to the activities of the Board. The representatives will also have membership on the Raine Community Advisory Group (currently under establishment) and will create a link between the two groups.

About the Raine Study Unincorporated Joint Venture Board

The purpose of the board is to support the integrity of the Raine Study through high level stakeholder discussions and involvement, and strategic planning processes. 

About the position

The Raine Study representatives will be actively involved in the Unincorporated Joint Venture Board. The representatives will provide the Raine Study community perspective to the board and its activities. The representatives will be an importnat link between the Board and the community and will ensure strong collaboration between the two. Raine study representatives on the Unincorporated Joint Venture Board will also become members on the Raine Community Advisory Group.

The representatives will need to have greater understanding of the needs of the Raine Study community and be able to communicate these needs to the board. The Raine Study representatives can provide a voice for important views of the Raine Study community to influence future directions and individual strategies of the Unincorporated Joint Venture Board.

What am I expected to do?

Board members will:

  • Be involved in all discussion about the strategic direction, which includes regular reviews of the Raine Study’s vision and values, and active maintenance and delivery on strategic plans
  • Provide an understanding of the needs of the Raine Study community and communicate these needs to the board
  • Provide feedback on the relevance, understanding and value of the research
  • Provide a “lived experience” perspective on the research
  • Provide input on activities specific to the Raine Study 

What skills or experience do I need?

  • Must be a Raine Study participant or parent of a participant
  • Ability to contribute at a strategic level on a committee
  • Have an interest in research
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong advocate for the Raine Study community 

What is the time commitment?

Two years; it is anticipated that you will meet four times per year as a board member.  As a representative of the Unincorporated Joint Venture Board you will also have membership on the Raine Community Advisory Group which will meet up to four times per year. 

Where will meetings be held?

Meetings will be held at Raine House, The University of Western Australia, 14-16 Park Way, Crawley, WA 6009

What support is offered?

An honorarium for meetings attended is offered. Training and mentoring is also offered by the Consumer and Community Health Research Network.
