Help us review research funding grant applications

Researchers at Western Australia's health and medical research institutes, universities and major hospitals need the help of community members to assist them in reviewing and/or commenting on a range of documents. 

Involving consumers and community members in reviewing documents, such as -  patient information sheets, consent forms and grant applications, helps to make sure that the information about research can be easily understood by members of the public. This helps make information about research more open, transparent and accessible.

This is the time of year researchers are applying for funding and we need your help in reviewing grant applications.

About the role of document reviewer

Document reviewers will be asked to review documents to provide:

  • Input into plain language summaries 
  • Comment on patient information sheets
  • Advice on grant applications

What is the time commitment for consumers? 

Each project will take a maximum of 2 hours to review the grant applications, provide feedback and comment on their project and documents.

Where will meetings be held?

These meetings are likely to be virtual with documents being provided via email.

What support is offered?

An honorariumof $30/hour. Maximum of 2 hours. The Consumer and Community Health Research Network also offers free training.
